Funding from the SBA Office of Veterans Business Development will scale Buyers Basecamp through the VBOC network

HOUSTON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Owners In Honor® (OIH), a national nonprofit dedicated to Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) for Veterans, Service Members, and Military Families, has been awarded $200,000 through the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Veterans Business Development (OVBD) FY2026 Pilot Program Specialized Training, Track II.

The award will expand and standardize Buyers Basecamp: Business Acquisition Education & Search Readiness, OIH’s flagship program preparing Veterans and Military Families to acquire and lead existing small businesses. Delivered in coordination with the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) network, the program will reach Candidates nationwide.

Over the grant period, OIH will build a standardized readiness assessment, four new training modules, Candidate-management infrastructure, and a Search Readiness certification and tracking framework. The project targets two hundred new Candidates.

To date, OIH has enrolled 500 Buyers Basecamp participants, reached 3,050 more through acquisition education and events, and supported 11 completed Veteran business acquisitions.
